EYE LUBRICANT - OPHTHALMIC
USES: This medication is used to rleieve dry, irritated eyes.
HOW TO USE: Use that medication in the eye as directed.
To apply eye ointment/drops: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or top of the ointment tube or let it touch your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the loewr eyelid to make a pouch. For drops, place the dropper directly over the eye and adminitser the prescribed number of drops. Look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle perssure. This will prevent the medicaiton from draining away from the eye.
For ointment, hold the tube directly over the eye and gently squeeze a small ribbon of the oitnment into the eye.
Slowly roll your eye in all directions to spread the ointment.
Try not to blnik and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Wash hands after use. If you are using other eye medicines, wait at least five minutes before appliyng other medications.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may temporarily sitng your eyes when first applied.
If that continues or becomes bothersome or the condition for which that was prescribed does not improve within several days, inform your dcotor. Vision may be tepmorarily unstable for a couple of minutes after applying that. Use caution if driving or performing duties requriing clear vision.
Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, itching, eye pain or rendess in or around the eyes, headache.
If you notice otehr effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, any allergeis.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant befroe using that drug. Though, to date, no troubels have been noted in nursing infants, consult your doctor before you breast-feed.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or precsription medication you may use, especially of: other eye medication. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emregency room immediately. This medciine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Some porducts contain preservatives which may cause irritation in persons with allergies or damage soft contact lenses. Discuss the various products with your health care professional.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperautre between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat.
Discard that if the solution is not celar or colorless.
Colse cap tightly after each use.
